The RA SRC reports on a newly discovered case of shadow turnover

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) reports that a new case of shadow turnover has been uncovered, resulting in approximately 8.2 billion AMD in unpaid taxes to the state budget.

As a result of extensive investigative and operational intelligence measures carried out by the SRC’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department, it was revealed that a Limited Liability Company (LLC) engaged in the production and sale of construction materials had been underreporting its actual sales turnover for many years. Specifically, between 2014 and 2024, the company concealed approximately 27.5 billion AMD in turnover, thereby avoiding tax calculations and payments.

The SRC reports that, based on the obtained factual data, on January 27, 2025, the committee’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department submitted a report to the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Following this, a criminal case was initiated, leading to searches conducted at the company’s legal and operational addresses. Items and documents relevant to the investigation were seized.

The SRC states that the preliminary investigation is ongoing, with all necessary measures being taken to clarify the details of the case, identify all individuals involved, and recover the damages caused to the state.

The committee once again urges businesses to strictly adhere to tax legislation and refrain from engaging in illegal practices to evade tax obligations.
